Bloom
watercolor on Arches paper 38x 28cm I recently purchased a bouquet of Daffodils which I have been enjoying painting. I first painted a single bloom from direct observation (pictured below). I then set up a still life on my dining room table. I started painting it from life but then had to resort to a photograph. The flowers wilted before I could finish. Yellow is always a challenging hue with watercolor to obtain the subtle values while struggling to keep the flower fresh.
